Yeah, so obviously, I've done well with the whole blogging thing. I haven't posted since March. Anyway, I'm about to start blogging in a big way, covering my motorcycle vacation from Austin, TX to Telluride, CO. We'll be travelling on Tiger's Vulcan 800, retrofitted with a nifty homemade rear luggage platform and pretty much everything but the kitchen sink. In addition to the rear luggage rack, we've also got a pretty amazing AC set up. Dual Mr. Mister's and the wind. On a test run Sunday on the way back from Houston, I have to give Tiger credit, the system worked well. We're totally focused on keeping cool right now since it's been 100 degrees here in Austin for most of June. That will be first and foremost on the first two days of our trip as we traverse the hot plains of West Texas. We leave tomorrow after work, and hope to arrive at our first night's campsite at Brady Lake, by about 7 pm.
Brady looks pretty sweet via the web. They have a lil movie where the fish literally jump in to the boat.
I'm not sure how much time we'll be spending there (we're on a tight schedule folks!) but the camp host assured us we'll have a nice site by the lake with plenty of trees to string our hammocks from. The weather forecast in Texas for June 26 says "It's never, ever, going to rain ever again." Yeah, that's the Fox version, but you get the idea, it's a pretty safe bet the tent will stay stored on this stop over.
